First post in a while and somewhat random but never the less…

Well, according the Caine himself, no it didn’t.

HD DVD no more

19 February 2008 13:21

After much speculation and comparison to the VHS Betamax wars of old a winner has emerged in the High Def. movie market. Toshiba have officially announced (via) that they are no longer going to produce HD DVD’s. Considering that at least 5 of the major studios have gone with the Sony backed Blueray it’s hardly surprising. Hopefully this will mean that consuming units start coming down in price.

Sky Guide Music

2 January 2008 19:24

This is one of those random posts that I just need to talk about.

Over Christmas the Sky Guide planner has been playing slightly odd, slightly dancey Christmas tracks. That’s all well and good, I reckon there was about 5 or 6 of them in total.

So why is now we’re subjected to the same 2 poxy tracks all year long! I know they occasionally change and yes, I can turn it off, but, come on Sky… give me something new to listen to!

Last.fm and Winamp 5.5

22 October 2007 12:17

If you’ve upgraded to Winamp 5.5 and are a last.fm user you may have noticed it doesn’t scrobble correctly.

It’s a know issue and you can download this new plugin from last.fm to fix it. I think looking at the forums it should go to their auto updater this week.

RIP Fopp

5 July 2007 10:10

Taken from http://www.fopp.co.uk/down.html.

It is with great regret that we announce the closure of Fopp.

Our store chain is profitable, well regarded and loved by our loyal customers and staff. However we have failed to gain the necessary support from major stakeholders, suppliers and their credit insurers to generate sufficient working capital to run our expanding business.

We would like to thank staff and customers for their support over the past 25 years.

Any outstanding website orders have now been cancelled and will not be fulfilled or charged.

This sucks, Fopp was cool.

Beginning of the end?

18 June 2007 22:09

Could HD-DVD be dead? A lot of people rumoured that once a so called “main player” went one way or the other it could sway the market.

With Blockbuster’s decision to go Blu-ray in over 1500 of it’s US stores you’ve got to think it could be a swaying factor.

Still not going to buy one just yet mind you!

Pirates of the Caribbean 3

5 June 2007 22:30

Saw POTC3 at the weekend and was overall pleased. It’s a bit longer than it needs to be and in places can get a bit confusing but there is some comedy moments and great Captain Jack sound bites. If you’ve seen the other 2 it does clear up a few things as well!

One thing, if you go and you haven’t seen it already sit it out through the end credits. There’s more. Is it worth the 3+ minutes of credits wait? I’ll let you decide.
